Abstract

A study conducted at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangdong, China explored the relationship between the angle of progression (AOP) and spontaneous vaginal delivery (SVD) in term nulliparous women before the onset of labor. The researchers collected data from nulliparous women with singleton pregnancies who were at least 37 weeks pregnant and not contraindicated for vaginal delivery. Transperineal ultrasound was used to measure AOP, and the correlation between AOP and SVD was assessed. The study found that term nulliparous women with an AOP exceeding 104 degrees had a higher probability of SVD. [Extracted from the article]
