Abstract
- Researchers from Zhejiang University in China have discovered that b-Cyclocitral (b-cyc), a compound found in Lavandula angustifolia Mill., has a nerve growth factor (NGF)-mimic effect on PC12 cells. The compound was found to promote neuron differentiation in PC12 cells by targeting insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) and glucocorticoid receptor (GR), as well as modifying downstream signaling pathways. The study utilized specific protein inhibitors and Western blotting analysis to investigate the bioactivity and action mechanism of b-cyc. These findings provide insights into the potential therapeutic applications of Lavandula angustifolia Mill. in promoting neuron differentiation. [Extracted from the article]
