Abstract

New research from Taigu, People's Republic of China, explores the potential of Tembusu virus (TMUV) replicon-based single-round infectious particles (SRIPs) as a vaccine development platform for poultry diseases. The study found that TMUVRP-fiber2 vaccines elicited high levels of neutralizing antibodies and provided full protection against virulent Fowl adenovirus 4 (FAdV-4) while significantly reducing viral shedding. However, the immunogenicity of TMUVRP-fiber2H was lower than that of TMUVRP-fiber2. The researchers concluded that TMUV SRIPs show promise as a novel platform for developing vaccines for existing and emerging poultry diseases. [Extracted from the article]
