Abstract
- This article is a special issue of the journal Languages in Contrast, featuring papers presented at the 10th International Contrastive Linguistics Conference. The aim of the conference series is to promote cross-linguistic research from various theoretical and methodological perspectives. The collection of articles in this special issue focuses on the contrastive study of linguistic constructions, including future constructions, classifier and quantifier constructions, external possession constructions, embedded exclamative constructions, existential and presentational constructions, and converbs. The studies analyze these constructions using corpus-based methods and include a variety of language pairs. The papers provide empirical and theoretical insights into these linguistic phenomena.
