Abstract
- The article discusses a study on the impact of a whole food, plant-based diet on reducing amino acid levels in patients with metastatic breast cancer. The study found that implementing this diet led to lower intake of calories, fat, and amino acids, as well as higher levels of fiber. Participants experienced reductions in body weight, serum insulin, and IGF-1, and the diet contained lower levels of essential and non-essential amino acids. The findings suggest that a plant-based diet may help limit amino acid levels in cancer patients and could potentially complement cancer therapies targeting metabolic vulnerabilities.
