Abstract

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health conducted a study on dementia, focusing on the use of neuroimaging biomarkers to understand cerebral artery pathology and its correlation with cognitive decline. The research utilized 4D flow MRI to measure hemodynamic characteristics of cerebral vessels and identified potential pathologic correlates. The study's findings suggest that 4D flow MRI measures reflect hemodynamic and structural relationships in cerebral arteries, providing insights for interpreting aging and dementia studies. Further research with larger samples is needed to confirm these preliminary results. [Extracted from the article]
