Abstract
- Researchers at Federal University Juiz de Fora conducted a study on the effects of tryptophan supplementation and physical exercise on mechanical hypersensitivity in a fibromyalgia-like model in female rats. The study found that tryptophan supplementation reduced hypersensitivity by 67%, while exercise reduced it by 150%. Combining both treatments led to a 160% reduction in hypersensitivity. The research concluded that tryptophan supplementation modulates hypersensitivity through improved metabolism, while exercise does not affect hypersensitivity through brain metabolism pathways.
