Abstract

Research from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria focuses on developing an intelligent computing system for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The study addresses the challenges of classifying mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) by utilizing a modular hybrid growing neural gas (MyGNG) architecture. Results show promising outcomes in the classification tasks, with the MyGNG system proving to be a more effective computational solution compared to other machine learning methods. This research suggests that the proposed system could offer a valuable computing solution for the early detection of Alzheimer's disease. [Extracted from the article]
