Abstract

Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have reported new findings on vein of Galen malformations, a type of congenital arteriovenous malformation. The study focused on the use of venous sinus stenting in pediatric patients with this condition to improve outflow after transvenous embolization. The research concluded that venous sinus stenting may be a safe and effective option to reduce aberrant cortical venous drainage and improve normal outflow in patients with vein of Galen malformations. Further studies are needed to explore its benefits in high-flow vascular malformations. [Extracted from the article]
