Abstract

A study conducted by Universitas Diponegoro in Semarang, Indonesia, focused on the sustainability of converting hospital medical waste into raw materials for paving blocks. The research included a life cycle analysis and environmental cost-benefit assessment, showing that this approach not only immobilizes heavy metals but also offers economic and environmental benefits. The study concluded that the cost of preventing environmental damage in this process is IDR 600,180.9 per cycle.
