Abstract
- The article explores the associations between prenatal distress, mitochondrial health, and gestational age in two pregnancy studies conducted in the USA and Turkey. The study analyzed data from women in the perinatal period, measuring maternal distress, plasma cf-mtDNA, and GDF15 levels. The results showed unique patterns of plasma cf-mtDNA and GDF15 levels during pregnancy, indicating potential interactions between maternal characteristics, prenatal distress, and pregnancy outcomes. The study suggests that maternal distress may impact energy mobilization during pregnancy. [Extracted from the article]
