Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, aimed to compare the efficacy of ultrasonic Doppler-guided technique (UDGT) versus traditional palpation-guided technique (TPT) for feline dorsal pedal arterial catheterization. The research found that there was no significant difference in the success rate or time taken for catheter placement between the two techniques. Complications such as self-limiting bruising and hematoma formation were observed equally in both groups. The study concluded that few complications were associated with arterial catheterization.
