Abstract

A recent study conducted at Seoul National University explored the effects of environmental noise stress on mouse metabolism. The research found that exposure to construction noise led to increased locomotor activity and reduced anxiety in mice, along with initial weight loss followed by an increase in fat mass and adipocyte hypertrophy. These findings suggest that environmental noise-induced stress may impact behavior, neurotransmitter modulation, and lipid metabolism, potentially increasing the risk of obesity. The study highlights the complex relationship between environmental factors and metabolic health. [Extracted from the article]
