Abstract

Researchers from the University of Ulsan College of Medicine conducted a study on the surgical removal of a large common bile duct stone in a 65-year-old woman with abnormal liver function tests. The patient underwent laparoscopic removal of the stone and recovered without complications, leading the researchers to conclude that this method is a safe and effective alternative to endoscopic removal. The study was published in The Korean Journal of Gastroenterology and can be accessed for free online.
