Abstract

A study conducted at the University of Jember in East Java, Indonesia, focused on developing a patient-centered care model for individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) based on self-efficacy to enhance self-care and quality of life. The research highlighted the importance of shifting from a healthcare provider-centered approach to a patient-centered one to better address the unique needs of individuals with T2DM. The study found that factors such as self-efficacy, self-care, and quality of life were significantly influenced by various exogenous factors, emphasizing the potential benefits of implementing this model in healthcare services to improve T2DM management.
