Abstract

The article discusses a case involving a patient who suffered a self-inflicted thoracic trauma with a broken beer bottle, leading to a retained bottle fragment in the thoracic cavity. The study highlights the challenges in diagnosing and treating such cases, emphasizing the importance of early intervention to prevent complications. The patient underwent minimally invasive video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for the extraction of the foreign body, resulting in a successful outcome. The article underscores the significance of prompt diagnosis and targeted intervention in managing unique clinical scenarios involving penetrating thoracic trauma with retained foreign bodies.
