Abstract
- Researchers at Duke University have identified the miR-374 family as a key regulator of chronic primary pain onset, specifically linked to catecholamine activation of peripheral adrenergic receptors. The study found that miR-374 was downregulated in individuals with various pain conditions and in mice with multisite mechanical sensitivity, with tissue-specific and sex-specific changes in expression of predicted mRNA targets. The research suggests that further study of miR-374 could inform therapeutic strategies for chronic primary pain conditions. For more information, the full article is available in PAIN Reports.
