Abstract
- A study conducted at Imperial College London explored the effects of methylphenidate on corticostriatal connectivity in patients with traumatic brain injury. The research found that methylphenidate improved executive function in TBI patients by altering brain network interactions, specifically increasing connectivity to regions involved in external attention and decreasing connectivity to regions involved in internal attention. These findings suggest that methylphenidate may enhance cognitive function by influencing the caudate's interactions with different brain networks. The study was published in the journal Brain and can be accessed for free online. [Extracted from the article]
