Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University of Calgary explored the relationship between baseline cannabinoid use and sedation requirements for outpatient endoscopy procedures. The research found that patients who reported using cannabinoids required higher doses of sedation, particularly midazolam and diphenhydramine, during endoscopy. The study suggests that endoscopists should be aware of potential increased sedation needs for patients who use cannabinoids, and patients should be informed of this possibility during the consent process. The findings were published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research and have been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
