Abstract
- Researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology conducted a study on sickle cell anemia, a blood disorder that causes severe complications. The study focused on the effects of hydroxyurea treatment on pathways altered during vaso-occlusive events in sickle cell disease. Findings showed that treatment with hydroxyurea can reduce the severity of vaso-occlusive events by downregulating inflammatory pathways, offering benefits beyond increasing fetal hemoglobin levels. The research provides insights into potential therapeutic approaches for managing sickle cell disease. [Extracted from the article]
