Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Zambia assessed the knowledge and practices of community pharmacists in the Lusaka District towards antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) strategies. The study found that 86% of the community pharmacists had good knowledge of AMS, with 66.7% exhibiting good practice towards the AMS strategies. The research concluded that while the majority of pharmacists had good knowledge of AMS strategies, there is a need for ongoing professional development programs to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
