Abstract
- University Hospital La Paz researchers conducted a study on the clinical utility of a multiplex PCR panel (BioFire Joint Infection(R)) in pediatric osteoarticular infections. The study found that the PCR panel improved the diagnosis of these infections by identifying pathogens with a sensitivity of 93% and a specificity of 63%. The rapid identification of pathogens allowed for timely and targeted therapeutic interventions, enhancing the management of pediatric patients with osteoarticular infections.
