Abstract
- A recent study from Yonsei University College of Medicine examined the prognostic value of left atrial strain in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and moderately enlarged left atrium undergoing catheter ablation. The research found that low left atrial strain was associated with worse rhythm outcomes and increased likelihood of AF recurrence after catheter ablation. This study suggests that left atrial strain measured through baseline echocardiography could predict AF recurrence in patients with moderately enlarged left atrium. [Extracted from the article]
