Abstract

A recent study from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart explores the use of speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) as a predictor of ablation sites in patients with recurrent ventricular tachycardia (VT). The research suggests that STE can effectively identify areas of scar and late potential, aiding in the planning of catheter ablation procedures. By correlating strain values from echocardiography with electroanatomical mapping data, the study found a close relationship between abnormal longitudinal strain and areas of low potential. This information may be valuable for improving outcomes and reducing procedural times in patients undergoing VT ablation. [Extracted from the article]
