Abstract
- In order to assess chemical risks and realize the large-scale application of colored cigarette paper, a novel cigarette paper with original tobacco color and flavor was prepared by coating the tobacco waste extract obtained from cigarette production. The storage stability, physical and chemical properties of the developed cigarette paper were measured, and its effects on chemical components in cigarette smoke and sensory quality were evaluated. The results showed that: 1) The novel cigarette paper with original tobacco color and flavor showed good uniformity and batch stability, and the main physical indicators remained stable during the storage period for up to 21 months under closed and shaded conditions. 2) The types and mass fractions of chemical components in the developed cigarette paper were significantly lower than those in the tobacco extract, and a lower drying temperature during the coating process was beneficial to improve the retention rate of volatile aromatic substances such as neophytadiene in the cigarette paper. 3) The application of the cigarette paper had no significant effect on the contents of routine chemical components and other chemical components in cigarette smoke. The aroma concentration was increased and the smoke sensory quality was significantly improved under the same cigarette style. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
