Abstract
- Researchers at the Carnegie Institute of Science have developed a high-cholesterol diet protocol for zebrafish to study lipid metabolism and human lipid-associated disorders. The diet led to hypercholesterolemia and fasting-associated liver steatosis in zebrafish, providing insights into fatty liver disease mechanisms. This study offers an effective approach to investigate the physiological and biochemical responses to high dietary cholesterol levels. The research was supported by the National Institutes of Health, G. Harold and Leila Y. Mathers Foundation, and Research Council of Norway. [Extracted from the article]
