Abstract
- The article explores the shared pathway-specific network mechanisms of dopamine and deep brain stimulation in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. It discusses how deep brain stimulation can modulate neural pathways to alleviate neurological symptoms, similar to dopaminergic drug treatment. The study combines invasive neural recordings with MRI-based connectomics to understand the mesoscale and macroscale effects of dopamine and stimulation on neural population activity and network synchrony. The findings aim to enhance the understanding of circuit mechanisms for advanced closed-loop neurostimulation therapies. [Extracted from the article]
