Abstract

The article discusses the use of the intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) model in liver MRI to measure diffusion and perfusion without contrast agents. It highlights challenges in obtaining repeatable measurements of IVIM parameters in abdominal organs, particularly the perfusion parameter Df. The study by Vasquez et al. in the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging compares different strategies for respiratory motion management in liver IVIM, showing that different protocols yield varying results for IVIM parameters. The findings emphasize the need for standardization in IVIM acquisition and analysis techniques to improve reproducibility. [Extracted from the article]
