Abstract
- A study conducted at the University of Lille in France examined the association between inflammatory and complement biomarkers and specific characteristics of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) in patients outside acute thrombosis. The research found that levels of certain biomarkers were significantly increased in APS patients compared to controls, with two distinct clusters identified: 'inflammatory' and 'complement'. Elevated IL-6 was associated with cardiovascular risk factors, while Bb fragments were strongly linked to aPL profiles at highest risk of severe disease. This study provides new insights into the relevance of biomarker profiling in APS patients. [Extracted from the article]
