Abstract

This article presents a case study of a 59-year-old woman who developed systemic allergic dermatitis after receiving an iodinated contrast media injection for a computed tomography scan. The patient experienced erythematous and vesicular lesions, with skin manifestations lasting for about 3 months despite treatment with corticosteroids. Intradermal tests confirmed a reaction to the contrast media, leading to a major flare-up of symptoms. The study highlights the challenges and complexities of diagnosing and managing delayed hypersensitivity reactions to contrast media, emphasizing the importance of thorough testing and patient follow-up.
