Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Nanjing University in Jiangsu, China, has identified a potential therapeutic target for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) known as geranylgeranyl diphosphate synthase (GGPPS). Researchers discovered that a GGPPS-targeted inhibitor, 4-AZ, can alleviate hepatic steatosis by degrading GGPPS through the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. This novel approach shows promise for the treatment of NAFLD and offers a new strategy for combating the disease. [Extracted from the article]
