Abstract

A study conducted at Lahore College for Women University in Pakistan compared psychological distress, general health, and life satisfaction among children with Thalassemia and children undergoing hemodialysis. The research found that children with Thalassemia had better general health, while children undergoing hemodialysis experienced higher levels of psychological distress. However, there was no significant difference in life satisfaction between the two groups. The study suggests that healthcare professionals and clinical psychologists can develop strategies to increase resilience among patients with chronic illnesses. [Extracted from the article]
