Abstract
- A report from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, discusses the correlation between cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) parameters and invasive exercise hemodynamics in adults who underwent Fontan palliation. The study found that lower peak heart rate and peak oxygen consumption were associated with higher exercise pulmonary artery wedge pressures and pressures. The research suggests that a peak VO2 <= 48% predicted could be an optimal cutoff for predicting abnormal underlying hemodynamics in these patients. The study was published in The American Journal of Cardiology and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
