Abstract
- The article discusses how the Program Executive Office for Digital and Enterprise Services (PEO Digital) is implementing Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP) in Flank Speed to enhance data protections for Navy Community of Interest (COI) data. Specifically, the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPI) community is transitioning their data from on-prem servers to Flank Speed, utilizing sensitivity labels and data-loss protection rules. The cloud-based environment of Flank Speed offers increased security controls, such as zero-trust security measures and object-level security controls, to ensure secure access and sharing of information within the NNPI COI. PEO Digital and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) 08 are collaborating to expand this capability to the entire NNPI enterprise, providing tools and resources to support commands in their migration to the cloud.
