Abstract

The article discusses the analysis of Chlamydia trachomatis genomes from rectal samples, focusing on a new clade comprising ompA-genotype L4 from Argentina. The study extends the investigation of lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) cases to Argentina and Finland, highlighting the diversity within the ompA-genotype L2b clade and the discovery of a novel clade of Argentinian samples with the proposed new ompA-genotype L4. The research provides insights into the evolution, genomic diversity, and transmission dynamics of C. trachomatis, particularly in the context of LGV outbreaks. [Extracted from the article]
