Abstract

Researchers at N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University have conducted a study on antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoimmune disease characterized by thrombotic events. The study emphasizes the importance of long-term anticoagulant therapy in managing APS, particularly for high-risk phenotypes. Different anticoagulant options, such as vitamin K antagonists and direct oral anticoagulants, are discussed based on the clinical presentation of APS. The research highlights the challenges in determining the intensity and duration of antithrombotic prophylaxis for individual patients with APS. [Extracted from the article]
