Abstract

The article discusses the meticulous renovations that transformed the former Newseum building in Washington, DC, into the new Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center. The collaboration of Ennead Architects, SmithGroup, and Rockwell Group led to the creation of flexible, transparent, and interconnected spaces for academic programs. The renovation included adding new square footage, reconfiguring the interior with multilevel spaces, and incorporating modern design elements while respecting the building's historic neighbors. The article highlights the innovative design approaches and sustainable features of the renovated academic facilities. [Extracted from the article]
