Abstract

Researchers at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences conducted a study on the effect of mild hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) strategy on cerebral oximetry near-infrared spectroscopy in congenital heart defects surgery. The study found no significant difference in cerebral oximetry between normothermic and mild hypothermic CPB groups. The researchers concluded that optimizing cerebral oxygen saturation monitoring during congenital cardiac surgery could improve patient outcomes. The study was published in the Archives of Anesthesia and Critical Care, with authors including Maryam Shakiba and Mahmood Hosseinzadeh Maleki from Mashhad, Iran. [Extracted from the article]
