Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Mudanjiang Medical University in China explored the impact of early oral administration of doxycycline on macrolide resistance in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP). The study involved 164 children and found that early oral administration of doxycycline was safe and effective in relieving symptoms in children with macrolide-resistant MPP, reducing the duration of macrolide use, and lowering the incidence of macrolide resistance. The research suggests that this treatment approach could be beneficial for managing MPP in children. [Extracted from the article]
