Abstract

A study conducted at Boston Children's Hospital aimed to evaluate the correlation between non-invasive echocardiographic estimates of right ventricular pressure and measurements obtained through cardiac catheterization in children with pulmonary hypertension. The research found a moderate correlation between the two methods, with stronger correlation observed in children with higher right ventricular pressures. This study provides reassurance to clinicians relying on echocardiography for risk assessment in children with pulmonary hypertension. The findings were published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia and have been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
