Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center have developed a novel method for creating realistic lung nodules for X-ray imaging. By injecting a combination of n-butyl cyanoacrylate and ethiodized oil into a phantom swine lung, they were able to mimic real lung lesions in size, location, density, and grayscale intensities. The study aims to establish a standard for evaluating image-guided solutions and refining algorithms in phantom and animal studies with realistic nodules. This research provides valuable insights for the development of new diagnostic and treatment approaches for lung lesions. [Extracted from the article]
