Abstract

In Older to effectively promote the revival of traditional art and make up for the low efficiency of traditional pattern design methods and the low controllability of design results, a pattern design evolution strategy based on parametric shape grammar was proposed, the decorative pattern of Qing dynasty ceiling painting-patttern was taken as an example. Field investigation, case analysis and literature research were used to analyze and extract pattern elements from three aspects of pattern, layout and color, and new design factors were obtained. Grasshopper was used to translate the shape grammar pattern inference rules into parametric grammar expression, and the design process of pattern was controlled by computer-aided shape grammar form, so as to realize the innovative design of Qing dynasty ceiling color painting pattern based on parametric shape grammar. Finally, 6 groups of pattern design schemes were derived for fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, and digital 3D simulation was present on CL03D software to verify their design feasibility. The results show that the pattern design model based on parametric shape grammar has good practical application value, and the generated results can retain the original artistic characteristics of Qing dynasty ceiling painting, and provide an innovative basis for the development of traditional patterns.
