Abstract

The article discusses a case series of seven men who have sex with men (MSM) presenting with facial folliculitis caused by Klebsiella aerogenes. The patients experienced chronic and painful symptoms, with some showing resistance to initial antibiotic treatments. The study suggests a potential link between sexual transmission, particularly oral-anal intercourse, and the spread of K. aerogenes among MSM, highlighting the importance of bacteriological swabs and longer antibiotic therapies in managing this condition. The findings emphasize the need for further research to confirm sexual transmission and recommend avoiding potential sources like hot tubs to prevent relapses. [Extracted from the article]
