Abstract
- A study conducted at the Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in the Netherlands focused on the long-term risk and characteristics of cerebrovascular events (CVEs) in childhood cancer survivors who underwent upper body radiotherapy. The research found that survivors treated with higher doses of cranial radiotherapy had a significantly increased risk of developing CVEs, which occurred at a young age and led to high morbidity. The study concluded that further research is needed to explore risk-reducing interventions for childhood cancer survivors at risk of CVEs. [Extracted from the article]
