Abstract

A recent study conducted by Instituto Politecnico Nacional in Oaxaca, Mexico, focused on the development of a nondestructive 1H NMR sensor for characterizing organic and inorganic materials. The sensor, inspired by the NMR MOUSE, utilizes a permanent magnet array and RF coil tuned to 11.71 MHz to monitor proton spins of liquid molecules during various processes. The research demonstrated the sensor's ability to achieve a 1 mm spatial resolution and detect differences in materials such as erasers, cement pastes, avocado fruit, and beef steak. The findings suggest that the sensor can provide valuable insights into material composition without causing damage, offering potential applications in diagnostics and screening within the health and medicine field.
