Abstract

Researchers from Worcester Polytechnic Institute have developed a novel framework called HCM-Echo-VAR-Ensemble to detect Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) in echocardiogram videos with high accuracy. The framework combines deep VAR architectures models (SlowFast and I3D) and achieved a state-of-the-art accuracy of 95.28%. This approach shows promise in improving the sensitivity and accuracy of HCM detection in clinical settings, potentially enhancing diagnostic consistency and reliability, even in low-resource environments. The research was published in the IEEE Open Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Biology. [Extracted from the article]
