Abstract
- This study aims to highlight the fundamental role of renewable energy consumption in Algeria, and its impact on environmental pollution resulting from the use of fossil energies, during the period (2000- 2021) using an autoregressive distributed lag. We found that there is a large inverse proportional relationship in the long run and a large positive relationship in the short run between the consumption of solar photovoltaic energy (SO) and carbon dioxide emissions (CO2), As for the consumption of electricity from hydroelectric energy (HY), It had a significant impact, with a positive relationship in the long run, the results also showed the existence of a positive and significant relationship in the short term, and a significant and inverse relationship in the long term between wind energy (WI) and carbon emission (CO2).
