Abstract
- The University of Wisconsin Madison conducted research on infectious diseases and conditions, focusing on the characterization of immunoresiliency and immunodeficiency in patients with recurrent infections. The study explored the use of T-cell subsets, specifically CD4/CD8 T cell ratios and Immune Health Grades, as potential biomarkers to quantify the severity of immunodeficiencies. The findings suggest that tracking CD4/CD8 ratios or Immune Health Grades could help clinicians monitor the progression of certain immunodeficiencies and make informed clinical decisions. The research provides valuable insights into understanding and managing conditions like Common Variable Immunodeficiency Disease (CVID) and other molecular immunodeficiencies.
