Abstract
- Researchers from Makerere University College of Health Sciences conducted a study on the serological status of hepatitis B virus (HBV) exposure among children under 5 and aged 15-17 in Kampala, Uganda. The study found that a large proportion of vaccinated children may be at risk of HBV infection, especially adolescents, due to low levels of detectable antibodies. The researchers suggest that a booster dose of the Hepatitis B Vaccine may be necessary for adolescents to improve protection against HBV. [Extracted from the article]
