Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Uttar Pradesh, India, compared two methods, the coronally advanced flap (CAF) and the vestibular incision subperiosteal tunnel access (VISTA), both utilizing platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), for treating gingival recession defects. The study included twenty-four participants aged 18 to 50 with isolated gingival recession defects on anterior and premolar teeth. Results showed that the VISTA technique yielded more statistically significant improvements in clinical parameters compared to the CAF method, indicating it as a more conservative and effective approach for treating gingival recession defects with PRF membranes. The study was conducted by researchers from the Department of Periodontology at Shree Bankey Bihari Dental College and Research Centre in Masuri-Ghaziabad, U.P. [Extracted from the article]
